Decorating for Autumn on a Budget

There is something about decorating for fall that gives me the warm fuzzies! It may be the promise of cool, crisp evenings with brilliant sunsets, or the fact that fall decorating is all about creating a cozy atmosphere in your home, and hey who doesn't love being cozy! The fun thing about fall decorating is that it’s easy and inexpensive. Here are a few of my favourite fall decorating ideas that are easy to accomplish on a shoestring budget.

Hit your local nursery, grocery store and fabric store for fall colour. Place potted chrysanthemums, pansies, croton, purple fountain grass, or flowering kale on your front porch, in your foyer, or around your fireplace to add colour. Tuck some mini pumpkins, Indian corn, or gourds around the base of the plants. Instead of spending money on pots, wrap the plant containers in fall print remnants from the fabric store.

Scavenge your yard for fresh ornamental cuttings. Put on your gardening gloves, grab your cutting shears and a bask ...

How to be Competitive in a Bidding War

If you have been looking for a home in 2020, you know how hard it has been to have your offer accepted. One of the most stressful situations in home buying occurs when other buyers are competing for the home you want. To make an offer on the perfect house only to find out you have entered a bidding war is certainly frustrating.
It doesn’t happen often, but if there is a shortage of homes for sale, or you are looking in a particularly sought-after area, it’s a possibility. It’s common to feel helpless as you wait for communications to come back through the agents involved, hoping for some good news.
To that end, We’ve put together some tips for how to make a multiple offer situation as comfortable and successful as possible for our buyers.

Pick a real estate agent who is well organized and an exceptional communicator. A lapse in communication could be interpreted as disinterest. Don’t get overlooked because your agent didn’t communicate with the ...

We are GROWING

To say that this year is different than we planned is an understatement. Personally, I had plans of travelling, having friends and family visit, having a fun adventure this summer with my family, and just like everyone else, my biggest adventure was to the grocery store.
As a Real Estate Team, we also had our ups and downs the past six months. Our team quickly pivoted to a new way of doing business. Between technology, dedication, and lots of support and patience from our clients, we continued to do business, and made a lot of families very happy!
Now with all that said, we are SO excited to announce that it wasn't just our waistlines that grew during the pandemic; our team has grown by THREE agents.
A BIG welcome to Shane Frost, Steve Rodino-Fernandez, and Vickie Kneebone. These hardworking new agents are the perfect fit for our team. They share all the core values that pride ourselves on. If you want to see for yourself why we have chosen these amazing individuals, ple ...

Stay At Home Maintenance Ideas

For me, it is day 56 or 1344 hours of being home- but who's counting!  I’ve read 9 novels, watched practically everything on Netflix (including Tiger King), cut my own hair,  I’ve organized the pantry, purged items from several closets and am toying with the idea of painting my entire house. And while that’s all fine and dandy, I got to thinking about what other projects I could be doing that would make a bigger difference in and around the house.
With all of this time at home I thought it would be a good idea to share some helpful project ideas that will keep your house functioning well. Because, let’s face it, we are at least one more bad haircut away from getting out so let’s make sure our homes are as comfortable as can be!

Trim the branches and vegetation away from your house – This time of year things grow quickly and it’s a good time to take a lap around the house and trim any bushes or branches away from t! ...

Your Spring Landscape To Do List

Every spring, most of us find ourselves taking on projects as we come out of hibernation. This spring, while a bit different, is allowing us more time at home to clean our closets, train for a marathon, bake too much banana bread, or…go a bit crazy in the yard.

If you’re not sure how to tackle your spring to-do list, here are a few suggestions. These are some of the most common landscaping tasks that need doing once things start to warm up, and knocking them out early can make other landscaping tasks easier as the year goes on. Who knows, taking care of some of these items might even get you inspired to take on a larger landscaping project later in the year.

Clean Up That Winter Refuse
The winter can be rough on your lawn, with clumps of leaves that haven’t quite decayed, sticks and branches that fell in a winter storm, muddy spots where ice formed and thawed and formed again … it can all leave a bit of a mess behind. Spend some time cleaning up t. ...
